Bruce attends a gala at LexCorp to steal encrypted data from the company’s mainframe, but Diana Prince steals it first and later returns it to Bruce. Luthor puts his backup plan into action and unleashes a monster that he genetically engineered using DNA from both Zod’s body and his own. Diana joins Batman and Superman in their fight against the creature. During the battle, Superman discovers that the creature is vulnerable to kryptonite and uses a kryptonite spear to fatally impale it. Unfortunately, the creature fatally wounds Superman before it dies.
Batman warns Luthor in prison and attends Superman’s funeral with Diana. Martha gives Lois an engagement ring from Clark, and Bruce requests Diana’s help to form a team of metahumans to protect Earth. Clark’s coffin levitates as they leave.
