A Very Good Girl Ending Explained
Mercy again sees Mother Molly, who is preparing for her 50th birthday party, and asks her for help. However, Mother Molly insults her and reveals that she always knew Mercy was up to something. It turns out that the stepsister Mercy thought she had was hired by Mother Molly as a way to teach Mercy a lesson. Mother Molly has been suspicious of Mercy since Charles was arrested, but she doesn’t want to seek revenge. Instead, she wants Mercy to be her daughter.
A fight ensues and mother Molly runs into a room. In the room lies her mother, whom everyone thought had disappeared. In the fight, Mother Molly leads Mercy to stab her mother in the neck, killing her instantly. She then thanks Mercy for helping her get rid of her mother, who she said was a burden.
Suddenly, Mercy realizes that Mother Monster has a heart deeper and more treacherous than she had ever imagined. Mother Molly intends to threaten Mercy and keep her in line. She wants to continue her relationship with Mercy, as it fuels her abandonment issues and her superiority complex.
However, Mercy is over. She is no longer willing to lose herself to get revenge and begins to distance herself from her. She tells Mother Molly that she is willing to admit that she is not a good person and face the consequences. She doesn’t want to become a monster like the old woman. As she walks away from her, Mother Molly follows her and is accidentally hit by a car.
Mercy walks away from the scene without a care in the world and receives a call from her sister. Her niece will be fine. They found a better hospital to treat her. In a way, Mercy finds peace when karma comes to her aid.

A Very Good Girl (2023):
– Plot, structure, characterization of Cruella (2021)
– Tone of Devil Wears Prada (2006)
– Inanity, lack of subtlety and ROAD “ACCIDENTS” of Mean Girls (2004)Derivative, yes.
But if we use Kathryn Bernardo’s persona and filmography as lens, it’s BOLD.— Cj de Silva 🦁 (@cjdesilva) December 28, 2023
